Life According to my iPhone

6 Feb

“When will it be summer so we can stop being sick?”  This came from the mouth of my fed up, 3-year-old. We’ve had a rough few weeks of sickness in our house…strep, ear infections, sinus infections, the flu, colds, 103 fevers, croup, & oddly enough one chickenpox – yes just one – this happens 1% of the time with the vaccination and thankfully it stayed just the one. It has been exhausting and oh so stressful for us all. We are in dire need of a vacation, which we’ll be taking in March to Arizona! Lets hope we stay healthy enough to make it.

Luckily through all of these illnesses, I’ve still had the energy to snap away at our days.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, thought I might let you know that we live in Australia, so it IS summer here and we have all been sick off and on (more on than off unfortunately) for the last two months! I’m hoping when summer arrives for you, you will have a better one than we did.

I hope so too…we’ve been sick since last summer. We have to catch a break at some point, right?!

I saw you liked my post on the bunny cookies. I visited your blog and really do like it and I also liked your Facebook page. Yes, our family has been battling with the cold virus the last few weeks as well and I am from Indiana. I can’t wait until spring is officially here and warm weather is upon us. Take Care!

Aw lovely, this post made me miss my kids a little bit (they’re at nursery today). We also got chicken pox after having our children vaccinated – but the vaccine isn’t routine here in the UK and nursery had a really bad run on the pox so at least our little one had it easier than most (although he was very spotty!). Glad you escaped it. My daughter (4) keeps saying “I miss summer” and “winter is not my favourite”. After last year’s nine months of rain we feel like it’s been a really really long time since it was sunny for more than a day at a time!

My 15 months old baby goes to a nursery with 25 kids and was in perpetual sickness since last August. I can understand those blues. Do try Manuka Honey – half teaspoon x 3 times a day, it helps to take care of cough in one to two days without the need for meds. Also try Virgin Coconut Oil. As I am still breastfeeding him, I have just started taking Virgin Coconut Oil in hope that he gets some health booster too. Do try these natural remedies.Cheers to good health!

Thanks for the suggestions! We do use honey for coughing. I’ll have to try the coconut oil too.
